Something big is happening in the world of craft beer, and it involves nearly 100 small and independent brewers across the country, including Mother Road.
It’s the first ever Biggest Small Beer Ever Made—craft beer’s biggest collaboration in history in celebration of American Craft Beer Week.
Here’s the deal: Every participating brewery — at least one from every state — brewed the same recipe over the past several weeks. Then on May 16, everyone will roll out the special release in unison. Want to learn more? Check out the official writeup and video about the collaboration here.
The recipe is an oatmeal stout brewed with a high percentage of malted oats for a creamy mouth feel. An added dimension comes from smoked malt that Mother Road was lucky enough to get specially smoked by Flagstaff’s Satchmo’s using mesquite logs.
American Craft Beer Week, now in its 11th year, runs from May 16 to May 22 and is a celebration of the ever advancing beer culture here in the U.S.
Besides the release of the #BiggestSmallBeerEver made, there will be a simultaneous nation-wide toast on May 19th at 5 p.m. where brewers, retailers and beer fans are invited to toast (and share their toast #ACBWtoast) to the American craft beer culture.
Make sure to stop by the Mother Road Tap Room for a pint this upcoming week and support the wonderful craft beer community!
